Holistically thought. Purposefully made.
Our understanding of sustainability is based on PFENNIG's drive to make the cleaning process as resource-friendly as possible with environmentally friendly system solutions. Short production routes in Germany and Europe as well as the long service life of our products contribute to this.
Economical. Ecological. Social. Responsibility is what drives us.
Our sustainable product world
Short, economical routes instead of long, emission-intensive distances: We produce our cleaning textiles mainly in Germany and cleaning trolleys and accessories exclusively in Germany and within Europe. We are constantly developing the PFENNIG textile range with a consistent view to sustainable material composition, production and application for resource-saving work. All textiles are regularly tested and some of them are certified according to the high requirements of the Nordic Ecolabel. After introducing the Clino® R and Caro XT-R cleaning trolley series in 2021 - two product lines consisting of up to 99 per cent recycled material - the focus at PFENNIG is on recycled products.
Our ecological saving measures
We use renewable energy both at PFENNIG's main site in Durach and in our production processes. With the installation of our own photovoltaic system in 2015, we produce solar power beyond our own needs, saving 50 tonnes of CO2 every year. And thanks to a combined heat and power system in the production process of our textiles, we achieve two grams of CO2 savings per mop. That's a total of 208 tonnes since 2008. And we are also proactive when it comes to waste avoidance: packaging materials such as cardboard boxes, padding film and more are reused in our warehouse for shipping.
Our social commitment
Respectful and open interaction with each other is the basis of a society. It is therefore a matter close to our hearts that people - and especially children - with their special needs and disabilities are respected and can live with dignity. And that is precisely why we at PFENNIG are also specifically committed to supporting social institutions and projects. With the PFENNIG Foundation, which is held in trust at the Don Bosco Foundation Centre, we support the concerns of young, poor, socially disadvantaged young people as well as street children and child soldiers all over the world. Among other things, the foundation supports projects in the field of youth work, school education and vocational training of the Salesians of Don Bosco. With great support from our team, the PFENNIG Foundation has already been able to support many children and promote a sports project for the integration of people with physical and mental disabilities.
